For as long as I can remember, I’ve been enchanted by the sound of the violin. One of my greatest irrational wishes is to magically acquire the skill to play this stringed instrument.

Around two decades ago, I started taking violin lessons from a classically trained virtuoso. Frustratingly, apart from learning the bare basics like bowing techniques, I could never get the hang of it. It is a very difficult instrument to learn how to play fluently,  After about six months, I gave up.

That failure has always haunted me.
