What’s a country that’s at the top of your bucket list?
I used to have a travel bucket list. Once upon a time!
Türkiye was at the top. Then there was Japan…China…Peru…Iceland…
Those countries I’d already ticked off are proving to be such huge disapointments- politically and humanitarianly. Except Spain. Spain is still all good.
But the world has become a lunatic asylum. International travel is such a schlep. Too much scrutiny. Too much suspicion. Too much hate. Too much money.
I’m confining myself entirely to travelling around my own beautiful country here on the southern tip of Africa. It’s vast and varied, with so much to do and see. So much.
My own country fills my bucket list for the foreseeable future. I don’t think I want to experience the wider world anymore. Not even if it calms the fuck down and becomes less mad.
