Who’s in charge?

Do Americans really know who is running the country?

Considering the wild and erratic shifts, especially in foreign policy, from one week to the next, I’m sure many Americans are left wondering who is making the decisions and what is guiding them.

Is it Donald Trump? Is it shady advisors? Billionaire donors, perhaps? Or maybe corrupt defence contractors? What about foreign agents or governments? Could some creepy television show host have the president’s ear exclusively?

All of these are perfectly valid candidates, and each has some influence. There is another naughty view, though, that might just be dangerously truer than people would like to admit.
