Worrying about the future is a futile exercise. We should be more worried about the now.
Look around you. I’m not referring to your immediate vicinity, although that’s a start. Look further. The world is a shameful mess.
Wars, poverty, genocide, corrupt governments and civic institutions, marginalised international humanitarian and judicial institutions, starvation, poor water quality, poor air quality, climate change, crime, greed, racism, violence of all sorts, misogyny, homophobia, hatred, corrupt political systems, a post-truth society, corrupt media, echo chambers, culture wars…
The list is long. Too long!
These are not future problems. These are now problems which we are tolerating because of our hateful biases and inability to think critically. We are squandering valuable time trying to solve problems that don’t exist.

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.
–Marie Curie
An all-out future nuclear war should be the least of our worries. It would be over before our nerves register any pain. It may be the humane solution for addressing our ineptitude and delinquency in tackling current problems.
Sad that this is a human race problem. A race has devolved over time. 🙁

It’s indeed a sad one. I only just live in the moment. I really wish we didn’t have to worry.
