The Norwegian Nobel Committee has proved once again that politicians cannot be trusted to award the Peace Prize to "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses," as willed by Alfred Nobel.
