The last time I travelled overseas was in 2016, when the world was a much calmer, safer place. Spain was truly magnificent, and I hope to return someday.
Since then, I have confined myself to local travel around South Africa, which has vast beauty and plenty of attractions to satisfy most travellers.
I had been planning to visit Türkiye this year, but given the current unpleasant global climate, I have decided to postpone it. It will undoubtedly remain my next international destination.
Thereafter, Peru, Japan, Sri Lanka, China, and Norway beckon, not necessarily in that order. Hopefully, my health remains in good nick, and since I’m retired, I have plenty of free time. The only constraint would be affordability.
I definitely won’t be returning to the USA, and two visits to Canada were more than enough.
Spain is so beautiful. I love it and retiring in Barcelona is high up on my wish list.

Yes, I loved La Rambla especially. However, Madrid has its charms, and the Costa del Sol region is spectacular.
