Make America Genocidal Again

Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

-Emma Lazarus, The New Colossus

Following the genocidal destruction of the Indigenous Native American population and the emancipation of chattel slaves, the United States changed course. It opened its arms to welcome immigrants from all over the world. These immigrants would go on to make America great in the shadow of the thinly cast veil of its horrific past.

However, over a century and a half later, America finds itself dominated by a corrupt two-party political system. One party is determined to destroy everything that made it great, including persecuting those individuals or groups that don’t meet its depraved moral standards, while the other party seems hell-bent on allowing it to happen.

Immigrants who once made the country great are now treated with contempt, rounded up in draconian fashion (surreptitiously in the middle of the night in some cases) and disappeared or summarily deported. The country that made free speech the cornerstone of its democracy is now clamping down on it with alarming frequency and brazenness.

The Statue of Liberty, a gift from France which bears a plaque inscribed with a poem by Emma Lazarus that once promised sanctuary and succour to the poor, the destitute and homeless people of the world, now stands as a colossal insult to enlightenment values. Its flaming torch might as well be prized free and replaced with an upturned finger flipping the bird to those yearning to make a new life in that country or audacious enough to speak out against the bigotry that has an iron grip on the ruling and elite classes.

Meanwhile, the newly crowned Commander-In-Chief, Donald Trump, who was elected on the promise of ending wars and Making America Great Again, has spent his first month in office creating untold havoc with the economy while behaving like a petulant four-year-old just given a new toy gun that spurts water. He has bullied his neighbours to the North and South into tariff wars and unleashed an egotistical man-child by the name of Elon Musk on various government departments to recklessly cut federal programs while engaging in an insane firing-rehiring frenzy.

But that’s not the worst of Trump’s criminally insane transgressions since his cartoonishly grotesque frame darkened the halls of the White House for another term of office.

The 78-year-old President of an entire country with the brain of the village idiot has now decided that he would like to get genocidal, too. Trump is apparentlly bored with Musk stealing the limelight in the Oval Office while he entertains Elon’s precocious offspring as he sits crouched behind the Resolute desk, promoting failing Tesla cars, “winning” golf tournaments at his own golf course, and making a total buffoon of himself on right-wing television. Earlier this week, he decided that he couldn’t let Benjamin Netanyahu have all the fun bombing innocent women and children to little pieces, so he joined in the murder spree.

In direct violation of his campaign promise to not start any wars, Trump earlier this week ordered unprovoked direct military strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, resulting in at least 53 deaths, including five children. To top that revolting feat, he gave Netanyahu approval to break the ceasefire and resume bombing of Gaza, which has resulted in over 400 reported deaths thus far.

I avoid using the word evil to describe anyone since it involves resorting to hyperbole. Usually, there are sufficient words to describe any form of bigotry without wading into the murky world of scriptural or comic-book-type evil. Likewise, I avoid using the word hate to signify distaste for a human being.

Sadly, I’m finding it increasingly difficult not to refer to what is happening in both America and Israel as evil nor indulge in a base form of hatred for Donald Trump, his sycophantic circle of demonic worshippers, including Elon Musk and the Zionist mass murderer, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Maybe it’s time we started believing that Trump is the devil incarnate because of the frequency with which he threatens to unleash hell.

    1. I don’t actually believe that, even if it sounds appropriate. Personally I think Trump represents the lowest depth of depravity and egotistical narcissism a human being could possibly sink into. Netanyahu, of course, is also on par with him in the depravity stakes. Musk, on the other hand, is an attention-seeking whore who, even with all that wealth, somehow manages to suck at it.
