When ya gotcha gets ya

Recently, I’ve shared several screengrabs of online Facebook “conversations” with fellow South Africans in two previous posts. I’m calling them conversations, although they mostly devolve into slanging matches.

While it’s never my intention to resort to slander, I occasionally get carried away but try to keep my retorts civil while employing scathing language as my weapon of choice. Unfortunately, most of these clapbacks fly over the heads of my detractors. Satisfyingly, there have been a few instances where the clapbacks really struck a nerve, and the originating offender deleted the comment.

Sometimes, they make it just too easy.

Like this regular commenter in response to me expressing disdain at the heartlessness being displayed by bigoted South Africans when Trump threatened to cut aid to us.

I make no apologies.

If you’re set on amplifying bigotry, racism or just plain uninformed codswallop and want to get cute, I’m up for the challenge.
