Bye-bye Biden, Hell-no Harris

Now that Joe Biden has thankfully dropped out of the US presidential race, I can safely predict that the Democrats have a reasonable chance of winning.

Not that they deserve to, of course. It’s just that I, for one, and I presume most of the world too, would rather not be insulted any further by Donald Trump’s racist, narcissistic, grifting. And I certainly don’t ever want to countenance his ghastly bandaged ear, orange face make-up, combed-over hairstyle, fat ass and bulging stomach in public again.

Just one small problem, though. Biden has hand-picked endorsed Kamala Harris to replace him as the presidential candidate in November’s elections.

Biden will see out his term in office, but it looks like a grueling few months for him ambling between engagements looking lost and forlorn. I have little sympathy, though. History will not be kind to his memory because of his support of the war crimes being committed in Gaza.

As much as I would love to see a mixed-race female president of America, Harris is not the right person for the job. Through the last three years or so, and especially during the inhumane months-long Israeli massacre of civilians in Gaza, Harris has demonstrated she’s comfortable with and willing to ensure that the imperialist status quo is rigorously maintained.

Contrary to popular sentiment, women aren’t necessarily the nurturing caregivers, nor the voice of reason we’re led to believe they are in positions of power. If warmongers like Hillary Clinton, Nikki Haley and the ghoulish Israeli Minister of Social Equality, May Golan, are anything to go by, one needs to be weary of Kamala Harris in a position of such corrupting power.

She has hardly shown any inclination to challenge the steel grip that the wealthy elites and treacherous self-interest groups have on US politics – not to my recollection, at any rate. Biden did not select her as a vice president to upset the apple cart. She’s certainly not going to reform the corrupt electoral system, perhaps not even attempt to.

So who’s a viable alternative? I don’t know. Nobody within striking distance is worthy of that once illustrious title, not even on the horizon. Bernie Sanders, maybe…

But it’s America’s problem.

And I hope they solve it. Fast. Or collapse from within, as is currently happening. Either way, for the sake of humanity.
